The Healthcare Transformation Lab (HTL) Applied Research Fellowship in Healthcare Innovation is a one-year program, which provides a unique opportunity for healthcare providers at MGH interested in hands-on care delivery transformation projects to make an impact on the front lines. Fellows spend the year leading innovation projects with mentorship from experts in the field as well as support from senior leadership, while gaining hands-on experience guiding their projects from ideation, to iteration, to implementation.

On 7 June 2023, the MGH Healthcare Transformation Lab celebrated its most recent graduate of the program, Michael Senter-Zapata, a Hospitalist at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Instructor in Medicine, Harvard Medical School.  During his time as an HTL Fellow, Dr. Senter-Zapata, in collaboration with his fellowship director, Dr. Jared Conley, led two pivotal projects in digital health to further the field of point-of-care clinical decision support in life-saving scenarios.  He will be joining HTL as Core HTL Faculty on 1 July 2023.

“The mentorship and resources provided by Dr. Conley and the HTL created a once-in-a-career opportunity to develop and validate my digital health solution and learn how clinical innovations evolve and scale on a health systems level. I am eternally grateful to the HTL for training me and inviting me to continue my work and research as a core faculty member.”
