The MGH Healthcare Transformation Lab (HTL) has entered into an ongoing collaboration with the American Heart Association (AHA) to develop a mobile app to assist clinicians – nationwide – in caring for patients requiring Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS). This MGH ACLS app was developed for front-line clinicians, especially resident physicians and COVID-19 redeployed physicians with limited experience directing a code, to address the unmet needs of existing solutions. It provides a user-friendly, AHA-certified resource for navigating ACLS-specific clinical protocols and efficiently responding to such emergencies. Importantly, the app also includes critical protocol updates for COVID-19 that were released by the AHA in April 2020. All ACLS content in the app has been developed, studied, and vetted by the AHA.
