Why us? Why now?
It’s time to transform the way healthcare is delivered.
This requires us to think about how hospitals function, how doctors collaborate, how providers connect with patients, and how patients participate in their own care in new ways.
The Healthcare Transformation Lab’s founding mission isto improve the experience and value of healthcare through collaborative innovation. Located in Boston — a hub of leading teaching hospitals, academia, technology, and start-ups — the HTL sits within the Massachusetts General Hospital and works to connect, inspire, and support passionate people from diverse backgrounds as they collaborate on ways to improve healthcare.
Shaan-Chirag Gandhi, MD
Shaan Chirag-Gandhi is an internist at MGH and a winner of the Year 2 Ether Dome Challenge for SmartRx, an automated natural language processing-based software platform. Dr. Ghandi co-developed the project with MGH cardiologist Dr. Maulik Majmudar, who also serves as Associate Director of the HTL and co-founder of health technology startup Quanttus.
The project came from Dr. Gandhi and Dr. Majmudar’s shared concern with rapidly changing clinical data preventing clinicians’ ability to ensure patients were on the best therapies for their health.
